Whiplash

The most common cause of whiplash is during car accidents ranging from minor slow speed to violent crashes. However there are many other causes of whiplash including Repetitive Strain related injuries, Assault or any other injury which causes a sharp blow to the head or neck.

Am I entitled to claim?

When you suffer a violent and sudden movement it can cause tendon, muscle or ligament damage to the neck. Whiplash symptoms do not always appear at the time of the accident and can usually take around 6 to 12 hours before appearing. Some symptoms of Whiplash are as follows.

  • Headaches
  • Dizziness and Blurred Vision
  • Pain in the arms, shoulders and back
  • Pain and stiffness of the neck
  • Pain, numbness or paraesthesia (pins and needles) in the arms and hands
  • Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia)
